While scrolling through Instagram, you may or may not have seen the RAL7000STUDIO x adidas ZX Mutant. A project between the three stripes and the creative collective, this ultra chunky clog develops on the ZX 2K boost and takes inspiration from the ZX 710 from 1987.
Featuring a one-piece construction that bears a striking resemblance to the Yeezy Foam Runner just in a heftier form factor, the Mutant ZX boasts an inner neoprene sock liner for a comfortable wearing experience. The material used to craft the upper itself is actually XL Extralight which is made using byproducts and scraps, in turn preventing material wastage during the manufacturing phase.

This is the same material that’s used on Jerry Lorenzo’s fear Of God California Slip-On that is still available in limited quantities. very little adidas branding is lasered into the bottom of the shoe and on the ribbon tongue tag, finalising the apocalyptic design that is made to turn heads.
If you’re a fan of the RAL7000STUDIO x adidas ZX Mutant, unfortunately this is a special project and will not see a public release, but never say never, right? only a total of forty pairs have been made and have been distributed to pals and family of the brand. We’re really hoping that these get a wider release though, so fingers crossed! let us know what you think of this prototype, and while you’re here, you might as well take your first look at the Prada x adidas Forum low “White”!
